I’m Sydney.
I used to think the people living free, adventurous lives online were selling a scam. I was a Naval officer with a full ride to college, a chemistry degree, and a six-figure salary.
But the warm, creative, adventurous side of me had been on mute for a decade, and it was ready to come out. So I got curious. If other people could build free and fulfilling lives, why couldn’t I?
That one question turned into three years living on a boat while I planned a calculated exit from my career. Then a year and a half of nomad life in 10 different countries, a nine-month lease in Australia, and now… a chapter in Alaska, I think? It stays pretty fluid.
I’m not here to tell you I’ve got it all figured out, or that there’s some secret sauce you’re missing. But I’ve spent every year since obsessively learning, and I promise to tell you everything I know.
None of this started with a big, risky leap. I’d never suggest one. It started with getting honest about what I actually wanted. These questions are a start.
